New Refurb Tablet Empty
PostSubject: New Refurb Tablet   New Refurb Tablet Icon_minitimeTue Jul 10, 2012 12:30 pm

I can't believe I bought one of these. Told my wife last evening that I was
glad they sold out, been looking at it about every half hour or so and they
sold out yesterday afternoon. Got a "recommended for you" email and
for a change I took a look and there it was for sale again. Why did I do
that?

Looks like a good deal. Bigger screen than the other ones you have I believe?
Hope they "refurbed" it properly!

It was out for delivery this morning but hasn't come yet.
Yeah, it's a little bigger and heavier but that's not why I went for it,
it's got Windows 7 and I can make things bigger even if they've
locked the resolution (hope they haven't though).

Most tablets are ipad size 'cause most tablets are ipads and the rest
copied. Apple is coming out with a mini in the fall, probably 7 inch but
maybe 8. The best buy right now is the Google Nexus 7 (7 inch) for
$199 with the newest Android, Jelly Bean, with some special software.
Tablets will sell between $100 and $200 by 2014 and they'll probably be
7 inch, easier to hole and cheap enough to take places you wouldn't want
to take along a ipad, throw one in your tackle box even. I may dual boot
this one with Windows 8 so I can see how well it works before MSFT starts
selling them.

I'll post pictures when it comes.

Right now it's a large and really heavy netbook, haven't figured out how to
get it off the dock or take the monitor/tablet off. Did a complete backup
to make sure I saved all the tablet programs and drivers. Touch screen
doesn't work while it's hooked up, hope it has touch or I'll just carry a
mouse with it. Must have touch, no trackpad on the tablet part.

Came with a "refurb" Windows 7 disk and when I booted it wanted a key.
Only choice was to remind me later so I took that. After it had desktop a
few minutes it turned the screen black and said this Windows wasn't
genuine. I don't see a key so far and I'm not going to give it one of mine,
it might tear up and I'd have to send it in. Not going to do that with my key.
Not one thing bad installed, just the recycle bin on the desktop. Nice.
I ran slmgr /rearm and it let me put wallpaper on. Four Screenshots

Your ma got pictures of it but it might be months before I get them off.
