Hooked up the new Acer netbook to the TV with the Acer's HDMI port
and it worked great. I was pretty astounded at the clear sharp,
brightly colored screen when Windows 8 booted up.
I was certain it would impress my wife. She pretty well ignored it.
Looked up once to see what was on Hulu free then went back to
what she was doing. I showed her the weather and finally I asked
her if she wanted me to turn it off. She said "Yes, please".
I was thinking about getting the free 7 day trial at Hulu that includes
regular TV programs and the 30 day trial of Netflix with old classic
TV shows and movies. Guess not, not worth the bother, I hate
having the TV on in the daytime and so does she. She really
doesn't have time to watch anything at night 'cause she already has
her favorite TV shows she watches. I don't even watch TV at night.
Nobody to watch.
She didn't seem to notice how neat and how much cleaner it looks
now with just the HDMI cable. I left the rest of the setup with the
old netbook in my chair until a little while ago to see if she noticed
that. External computer speakers and all the wires and removed
the keyboard to try just getting by with the slightly bigger keyboard
on the new 12" Acer netbook. She didn't mention it.
