Lightning Storm

Had a lot of lightning last evening.  Honey said:
"Smells like something's on fire!"
I agreed.  Traced it to the landline base phone.

It's fried, had to take it outside on the porch to keep the
smell out of the house, stunk out there for hours.
Phone line's fine, got the wired phone we receive your
calls on hooked up.  Came in on the phone line 'cause
nothing else was affected.

Well dang, that sucks. I assume it wouldn't have burnt down the house if you weren't there?

Just gave Jim from Mr. Pump a Ben, Grant, and a Jackson.

We'd been having issues with it already but the water quit
runnning but he did say there were two more on this
street that got hit by lightning and needed repair this
morning. Put some kind of new plate in the control box
of the pump. Pump's ok thank goodness.

Oh well, guess that's all the damage now.

Phone wouldn't have burned the house down, just stunk it
up.
