Trump and the markets Empty
PostSubject: Trump and the markets   Trump and the markets Icon_minitimeThu Nov 10, 2016 6:25 am

I was really surprised to see Trump win the election. Even more surprising was the 700 point drop in premarket trading followed by a big run up during the day and into the close. Just goes to show that you can't time the market.

With that said, I took a little profit on some things yesterday afternoon. I might take a little more today as it looks like another significant rise ahead. It's been a good year for my investments and I don't plan to squander them over what appears to be misplaced euphoria. By most accounts, the market is overvalued and there will be buying opportunities ahead.

I wasn't really surprised, but I thought there might be a chance
for FL. We knew TN would go red, you could have voted Mickey
Mouse and it wouldn't have made a difference.

Turned out to be a good day for the markets but I don't invest in
the markets, just shares of companies. Big changes there
yesterday. Glad to see CBRL go up so much but I wan't more.

Not sure stocks are overvalued but they're pretty high on
average. It's hard to judge the opportunity for growth ahead
so it's hard to put a fair price on anything.

Bonds took a hit but that's good it happened now before the Fed
raises rates in December.
I am optimistic on stocks and think we have a big blowout
coming sometime in the future with soaring inflation just before
the bubble pops. I don't see a bubble in stocks anytime soon
though.
