Almost certain Honey will take our taxes to Dr Leach
and his wife to have them fill ours out for free.
(they volunter each year somewhere)

I saw an article in Kiplinger's but they didn't rate the
different ones.  Had all the biggies but I just looked
at the two free ones.  I might play with one.

I haven't heard of either of the 2 free services you reference. I've been using TaxAct for a number of years now. I remember you pointed them out to me when TurboTax wanted to screw everybody that year over stock sales. I think they wanted like $30 extra if you sold just 1 stock.

TaxAct was the best a few years ago when I remommended it.
Kiplenger said it was the darling of budget minded filers for
years.

They rated Turbo Tax as best, H&R Block as second best
and Credit Karma Tax as third best this year.

TaxAct changed it's pricing some, for instance, if you have
a health savings account (I don't) it's $70.
It was downgraded for poor support (I don't ust that) and
clunky interface.  The reviewer said he had to go through 5
screens to add $100 interest.  That's the killer for me and why I
swore I wasn't going to do my own taxes anymore.  As I went
through several screens for everything it never seemed easy to
find out how to get to the next screen.  I was unable to count off
the property taxes on the rental and finally added it under
miscelaneos.

Went to TaxAct first, it started me free then later
it said this:
"Upgrade to TaxAct Premier+ No, thanks. I don't have capital gains or losses.
Upgrade to TaxAct Premier+ for only $57.95 more. Pay when you file. State additional."

Done with TaxAct!

Yeah, it does ask you that a lot. I told it no thanks 4-5 times. It seems like Turbo Tax did the same thing though that has been years ago. I might shop around a little more next year.

When it was just an ad, I clicked "No, thank you" myself a few times.
Now it won't let me go on without it.
Says "No thanks, I don't have any capital gains"

I went back today just to make sure.
