| Looks like my NEC DVD +- RW ND3650A has wet the bed. Won't play a CD or allow picture viewing from a CD. Haven't tested with a DVD yet but I'm confident that will fail too. Probably get a new puter around Xmas so not going to sweat it. | |

Just in case check more that one CD/DVD for sure if you haven't. Also, might be a good idea to go to "My Computer" and right click the device and choose explore to see it it lets you see anything. Could have bitten the big one though, I've had a few wear out. If you have compressed air try blowing it out but I wouldn't go buy any just to try.

| I just got an email that my machine had shipped. 7 day shipping with the new estunated arruvak date of July 16th. It hasn't shown up on the tracking number yet though. It's ground shipping with Fedex but I think it ships from Round Rock, TX so it whould get here earlier. | |

| I guess you'll get yours before I get mine, looks like they're sending mine to Mexico. Nothing has happened at the tracking page but I noticed the address: | |

| As mentioned yesterday in email, my says Mx also so that must be irrelavent. I checked this morning again and it still says initiated. I don't believe it has actually left anywhere further supported by the fact that my credit card hasn't been charged yet. Oh well.
I did see this on my order where it lists all the components. Some sort of online backup. Probably a charge for this monthy I'm guessing if you were so inclined to use it?

| My tracking page is unchanged, still says Fedex was notified. Don't know, maybe Fedex can't ship anything to MX.
I saw the storage from Dell and checked on it, I told you to check every box when you ran the PC Decrapifier and wanted to make sure of the storage in case it was listed. It's probably free for a year but it sure wouldn't hurt them to make it forever. There's two gigs free from a lot of places, I've got Dropbox with 2 gigs for free and it sychronizes between my computer and Curly's, either one of us changes something on LSOG it changes it on the other machine. And it keeps diffentiating copies in case you realize you've screwed up and want the old version back. I'm sure the Dell thing is just an ad and they do want you to buy the paid plan that has more space. Microsoft gives you 25 gigs with your hotmail account and there's a program out called Skydrive Explorer that let's you use it just like a disk on your machine, drag and drop and everything.

| Didn't know if you would beat the delievery man to your house yesterday or not, but you wouldn't have any time to start on it anyway.
Mine arrived in Ocala from Orlando this morning, an hour or two ago. Pribably get it today. I'll blaze the trail then and see what they've got and put up some screenshots maybe.

| Dell Dimension E521 is dead. It's fine. Was just the monitor died.
Won't boot. Light comes on, hard drive spins up, nothing else happens, nothing on the screen, no loading noises. Won't boot to my rescue USB stick, same results as without it.
I posted it on the forum I go to for the experts but don't expect anything that will work. I'll wait a little while then if nothing will notify Dell right away to get it on record.
Oh well.

| Well, glad to hear it was just the monitor I guess. I'm curious why you would contact Dell unless you still have some sort of extended warranty..Why would they care if a 4 (?)year old computer died?

It was the new Dell I thought died, had it less than a month.

| Whoops, posted this in the wrong place.
It was the new Dell I've had less than a month that I thought died. Hooked up to a 22" monitor. My main 24" is still working.

Dell Dimension E521 arrived Fri Jul 16, 2010
A couple of months left on it then I'll do whatever I want to it.
