Good Stocks to Hold Empty
PostSubject: Good Stocks to Hold   Good Stocks to Hold Icon_minitimeMon Jun 25, 2012 10:56 am

Just took a look at Yahoo Finance and the S&P is down 1.67%
The safest stocks perform better over the long term, here's some:

ABT = -0.40%
CBRL = -0.87%
GIS = -0.42%
KFT = -0.95%
KO = -0.99%
MCD = -0.62%
MO = -0.31%
MRK = -0.72%
PG = -0.40%
T = 0.77%
WMT = +0.49%

The amounts are constantly changing so those figures aren't persistant
but it's a good starting place. Higher risk stocks go up more when the market as
a whole does and down more when the market is down. These are fairly
consistant dividend payers and go up and down less.

Got Tracy some ETF's yesterday and a few stocks I'd been watching. PG was one of them. Fortunately, I waited until about 11:00 and she actually made money yesterday after the markets bounced back a little.

She wants me to buy her something she can brag about so I'll put a few dollars in something like a .. Coach, Louis Vuitton, Macy's, , Bloomingdales, etc. Need to do some homework to see what might be the better stock. Not sure all of these are even publicly traded.

Bound to happen. Without checking it out I'd get 25 or 50 shares of the cheapest one. Let's see.

Bloomingdales is privetly owned.

Coach Coach, Inc.(NYSE:COH closed at 57.64
52 week 45.70 - 79.70

Louis Vuitton is privately owned.

Macy's is M (wow, one of the one letter ones) closed at 34.20
52 week 22.66 - 42.17

Need to run Macys and Coach through Yahoo but Macys is
cheaper.

EDIT:
Wow, they both look great! Macys pays the highest dividend.
If the economy picks up some they should do great.

Yep, had pretty much decided on Macy's by the time I read this. Good analysis Thump!
Might wait to see if there's a pullback near term.

Golf tourney Saturday at 1:30. Forecast is 104 degrees.. Nice!
