Free YouTube Downloader

It's number 5 on CNET's and ZNET's most popular downloads and had
a rave from the editor. I was careful but it also installed about 5 crap
programs with the install.

It wouldn't get the music videos I tried, reported who they were
protected by instead. Most were three letters but the last fail was Sony.

Finally got one I didn't want and it worked fine for that, converted it to
.wmv like I told it to. It works fine for capturing that cute kitten video or
whatever, just not for the music downloads. I was in Virtualbox.

Number 8 on the most popular downloads is YTD Video Downloader.
Downloads the youtube music videos just fine but features are greyed
out, tries to sell you the pro version so conversions not working. Said so
right up front but tries to change your search provider. I got a popup
asking to change it, told it no. One toolbar, easy to remove.

After it's downloaded you can open it with YouTube Downloader and
convert it to mp3 just fine. Need to move the slider bar on the volume
from center to the extreme right to get full sound.

Might be something better but I haven't found it yet.
