I've used Norton Ghost for years and it's often failed
and had uselessly corrupted files and I hate any
program from Symantec with their "LiveUpdate".
I'm running Ghost 12 right now but have little faith in
being able to restore from it and haven't tried that yet.
I'm going to make at least one more image file with
another program and have it to fall back on or use
first.
Acronis True Image is the top rated program but unless
you got an earlier version that was free you have to
pay for it now. I remember testing it and it worked fine
but couldn't put the image of the first primary partition
on the second primary partition. Other than that I
agree it's the best.
It looks needlessly complicate like a lot of Linux
programs but I have a copy of Partimage on the
multiboot Linux disks I got but it's and older version.
PING DownloadI did find that a couple of modified versions of
Acronis are available from HD companys:
Seagate DiscWizard DownloadMaxtor MaxBlast DownloadI've downloaded the one from Seagate but haven't
put it to use yet.
