I hadn't been able to scan anything for a long time 'cause I couldn't get the
HP snanner to work with the computer. I just reinstalled Vista and it's brand
new and I was looking at some of the programs I'd save and found the HP
setup program (which I hate). It works but the best it can do is 200 DPI
(Dots Per Inch). It's slower than molasses so after a few big ones I started
putting several on one scan but I can snip each one out later.

So far I just made a much smaller snip from inside a huge one and it's probably
the oldest one. I expect it's Mom and Helen (Carver).




I put the big ones up but they'll be real slow to load. It's on a server that I
just pay a kid $1 a month for so I don't want to abuse it. They'll be up for
the rest of this month I think. They're at:

I'll try and remember to put them on a CD and send you a copy the next time

Yeah, that is me and Helen. My hair was as messy then as it is now. You would think someone would have combed it. That is my excuse for then; I don't have one for now.

Wonder about when that was taken? It has to be the oldest and not
in real good shape but it's not the worse. Here's one of me in a bow tie:

The picture of me and Helen was made between 1930 and 1931, when I was between 5 and 6. Helen is around 2.5 yrs younger.
I'm not sure when the one of Tommy was made. Was the date on the back of the picture?

Granny my guess is circa 1950?

Nothing to reveal the date, just G W Humphreys the photographer had scrawled.
I'd say 1950 or 1951, I was five or six. I was refraining from an open smile because
of my rotten teeth. I was painfully aware of their condition from looking in the
mirror. It definately predates the arrival of my first two big teeth.
