Success I guess but only one barbeque vendor out of two showed up and they ran out of
barbeque to sell. People weren't allowed to eat the barbeque that the contestants made
due to some law, ordinance, or rule.
First-ever Battle of the Pigs raises $34,000 for charity
The inaugural Battle of the Pigs BBQ Fest and Car Show, held May 22-23, drew more than 3,000 people
to the Appalachian Fairgrounds for barbecue, music and classic cars, and it raised $34,000 for charity.
The event, put on by the Rotary Club of Johnson City, benefits different children’s health and
educational programs, both locally and internationally.
