xubuntu was so disappointing I tried a Vinux Live CD and booted that up.
Looking good to me. It was pretty big to start with but let me change it to 1280x800 and that's how I want it to work. Needs work on the screenshot taker but that's the ubuntu underneath I guess.

Got the screenshot app working right I guess, Desktop with default icons and one I created and one that's a shortcut I made to the storage partition on the hard drive.
