Sliding Glass Patio Door

Talked with handyman Dave Robey this morning and agreed to
an installation price of $250 (without getting a permit).

Home Depot wouldn't sell me the $299 door by
American Craftsman. So ordered a cheaper one from
Lowes. - Got a Lowes ad on here at the top right now,
guess it read a cookie or something.

It said "pick up in store as early as today" but they're still
processing the order and haven't got notified that it's
ready for pickup yet.

Did they ever process it? I'm sure you'll appreciate the purchase.

Yeah, it was processed early, the email went to my
"promotions" folder. Tried to leave a phone message
for Dave Roby but he's never gotten back to us.

It was ready for pickup Wednesday afternoon.
Better try and call the guy again today I guess.

Called the handyman this morning, he got our message
but said he couldn't call back 'cause I didn't leave a
phone number. Said he'd pick up the door today or
tomorrow and try to put it in Wednesday. Honey's
going up to Lowes to see if there's going to be a problem
with him picking it up. The terms for picking it up were
very strict. I told her to tell them to give it to anyone
who shows up with the damn order number.

Reliabilt door, wish I could have gotten the American
Century one from Home Depot.

Looking better. Dave called about 7:20 this morning and
said it'd probably be noon or one o'clock. First time he
hasn't put it off at least a day.

Door's in. The Lowes door didn't fit but we put it in anyway.
Going to have to get some trim to put on one side and the top
but it's in good and solid.

Honey's complaining a little 'cause it's a little hard to open
and close because it's new but it'll wear in. She was able
to close it and lock me outside and laugh at me though.

He charged $250 like he said he would but I gave them
$300. Got less than $600 in it now but will be a little
over after I buy some trim. Not going to buy anything
else at Lowes. The bids from the guys at Home Depot
and Lowes cheapest one was $450 plus the building
permit Dave didn't care if I got or not and I didn't.

He does want $750 to put in the bathroom wall though
without the tile. Told him I'd let him know.
