Curly's Home Business

Curly's in Georgia and is going to get some more pinball parts from a guy there.
Diane was over this morning and she had been working on the books for their
tax return. He sold $100,000.00 worth of parts last year almost exclusively off
the site I made and run for him. But, she complained, he bought $103,000.00
worth of new parts. He'd said he was going to put it all back into the business
and buy more parts with the money.

Nationwide had cancelled their home policy, they're not going to insure anyone in
Florida anymore. Diane had been bragging, she'd shopped around and got a
much better deal somewhere else. They called and canceled her policy this
morning for having a business in their home. She told them it was just a mail
business. They said they'd found his website online and saw he was announcing
an open house. No privacy now with the internet. He called me and told me to
take the notice off and then made her call back and tell them it was cancelled.
Didn't work of course.

sounds like bad luck or no luck for Curley.

Poor Curly.. They need to get something figured out pretty quick. I don't think I could sleep at night without home insurance. I assume their house is paid for because I don't think you can have a home loan without insurance?

It's all taken care of. When they cancel, the policy still covers you for 30 days. And
even though she turned down the company that Nationwide assigned her to, they
covered her anyway.

She'd already gotten a call from the mortgage company asking why she had two
insurance policys in effect and reminding her if she didn't know, that only one can
be in effect, that she cannot double collect.
Probably a red flag if dumb people decide to burn the house.

Diane got new insurance immediately though and had three policys that said they
were in effect. Got another call from the mortgage people.
She went back to the new insurance place and told them and they called the other
two companys and made them drop all charges. Seems it's against the law for
more than one to charge you for the same coverage. She told Diane she didn't
like those two companys anyway and if she had any more trouble from them just to
call her back and she'd take care of it.

The house is not paid for and they keep their money seperate and both have to pay
half the payment. Curly told her she ought to take her money and pay it off but she
knew better than that so refused.

Curly's back from Georgia but hasn't put the Open House back up, don't know if he
will or not.
