I've set it up on two machines now, but not the main one I really need. I'd go
ahead with setting it up before I forget how except the new router is coming
and it may have to be done again, I don't know but have enough now to fine
out.
I have one of the new Foxconn computer kits I built with a 1 terabyte hard
drive that I want to use with just a power cord and the lan connection, no
mouse, keyboard, or monitor. I'll set that up and control it from my main
computer. I have to log in as a user with a password to take control of it
and when I do the controlled machine logs off any users logged in.
Nothing going on is visible on the controlled machine's screen.
I talked with Rock Sunday night and I believe he had it confused with Remote
Assistance, a different application where the person being helped can see
what's going on. I started looking into that while I'm waiting, that sounds
like something that would be nice for helping Helen on her netbook. I can't
see the little screen on it and it really hurts my back to try and lean over
and down to try and see it in her lap while she's in the recliner. And she's
not going to get up to be helped.
I'm not going to do much until I have the new router set up but I think I'll give
that a shot when I'm through with that.
