25% Turn Off Antivirus

Avira: 25 pct of PC users disable antivirus software

A new survey from German antivirus and computer security firm Avira finds that
about one in four PC users admit to turning off virus protection on their PCs
because they thought the programs were slowing down their computers.
Furthermore, more than three out of five (62.8 percent) have tried multiple computer
security products in the span of a year on the same computer, hoping to find one
they like, and nearly one in eight (12 percent) have considered getting off the Internet

Probably be higher if it was easier to turn off.

I have to check from time to time to see if MSE is actually working. Very unobtrusive and I don't think my puter is slow at all.. Of course, I'm mainly comparing to my work laptop that is overly bloated with security crap.

MSE is great, I told you not to even consider anything else.
(Unless you're running pirated Windows and don't want to get
busted. In that case use Avira.)

Funny Avira did the poll, theirs is pretty aggravating. It's probably
whatever comes with someone's new machine that gets cut off
though.

New MSE out now but I haven't tested it yet, supposed to be even
better.
