Spurred by the use of Linux. It never has really taken off since Windows
dominates the market and wants paid for each install (two copies on dual
boot) and that costs too much for them to be serious contenders for dual
booting. One of the new tablets, (original form copied by ipad) has one
with one copy of Windows and one of Linux, the rest are just dual booting
