Dropbox Empty
PostSubject: Dropbox   Dropbox Icon_minitimeTue Jan 24, 2012 6:42 am

Been toying around with how to utiize Dropbox to share files / videos with apps specialists. Alot of people now have smartphones and can get a dropbox app for free. The idea would be to post step by step videos of how to do a particular scan / workflow in a public folder (or maybe share a folder) with apps people around the world. If you had to go onsite to teach a specific application, you could use your smartphone to pull up a video as a refresher. Still need to toy around with how to make a shared folder where anyone with this app and the password could log in and see my videos. Thought about putting powerpoints / word docs in there too but I'm not sure if there are apps to view those on smartphones. May try to put a small ppt in there later and see if I can read it from my smartphone Dropbox app. Might be doable.

Downloaded dropbox to my work laptop using the same rockhump account. Probably should have set up a whole new account, dropped in a shared video, and tried to access it from my smartphone.

There may be something better to use but I can't think of anything else out there that would have a free app accessible via smartphone.

Oh we, something to play with I guess.

I installed it on the tablet but haven't used the tablet so can't say how well it works.

You're still constantly bumping up against the limit so to use it much you'd need to empty out everything you didn't need mobile or needed to access from afar or stuff you put in short term to have me back up.

Should work fine though, I haven't heard anyone gripe about how it worked.
There's nothing better out there right now. A lot of places have more storage but none seems to work as well or effortlessly.
