Bigger Than Dropbox

4sync.com - I thought I'd give it a try. 15 gigs free. I've tried about 10 of
these things so far but right now I'm rating this one as 2 after Dropbox.
It did put an icon on every user account desktop to try and get you to sign
up a different account like the rest. I don't think Dropbox did that but I
rushed to sign each one up myself without looking.

Instead of being C:\Users\me\Documents\My Dropbox it was
C:\Users\me\4sync

Right click a file, choose save link but it doesn't work if you don't have an
account, sends you to 4sync website.
Looks good though, maybe make my life "cloudier" and put more stuff in
the cloud. This should work for Curly, don't think he has more than that.
He's wanting me to copy his stuff to his All-In-One but it would just get
stale, he's not going to use it unless his Acer tears up.

Almost a Dropbox, I installed it on one primary partition then this one and
it filled up quickly with the few files I had in it. Keeper for me so far.

Think I'll stick with dropbox.. Just made it easier to snap a pic on an android phone and upload to dropbox.. Just tried it and it works pretty easily.

Yeah, I read about that this morning somewhere, glad it works ok for you. Maybe
you can get the tablet set up when you get down here.

Different animals though, Dropbox is best for short term storage like that, 4sync is
mostly just larger sized sync. I put 4sync on one of Curly's machines but didn't
finish with the other. Windows Live Mesh seemed more what he needed but turns
out his stuff was just a little smaller than 5 gigs so 4sync sould have worked (not
counting downloads and music, etc. Just documents and pictures.

I set him up with the Live Mesh and just needed one folder since it allows up to
50 gigs in each folder. Created a document folder and a picture folder and made
shortcuts in his documents and pictures to each one. Drug and dropped all his
stuff to the new folders. I didn't use the online mesh, it's just 5 gigs, so it's not
online, just syncs to each machine it's on. Only when both machines are turned
on at the same time.
