Download of the day at Kim Komondo's site.
I think I might try this today. I've been wanting a forum on my computer to help keep track of
notes and projects that I might start but never could get one installed on my computer even
with the kids trying to help. This might suffice and it's a lot like a forum.
Your personal portable wiki
A wiki is an easy-to-edit Web page. Wikipedia is the ultimate collection of wiki pages. Most of
the time wikis are intended to be collaborative. Multiple people edit them.
But you don’t have to share a wiki with others. You don’t even have to have it on the Internet.
You can carry a personal wiki on your thumb drive.
TiddlyBackpack is a simple Web-like application. It’s actually an HTML file that can be opened
in any browser. But don’t worry. You don’t need to know HTML to use it. Though if you do,
you’ll have more options for customization.
You can create a number of separate pages. And then you can add them to a custom table of
contents. Each page can contain various lists, notes and references. You can even add links
to Web sites.
The HTML file stays fairly small. So it can easily fit on a thumb drive. Or you can share it
through e-mail.
