Windows 7 and DriveImage XML Empty
PostSubject: Windows 7 and DriveImage XML   Windows 7 and DriveImage XML Icon_minitimeWed Nov 12, 2008 4:41 pm

I'm testing Windows 7 and DriveImage XML.
I started with the $200 emachine and left the Windows XP on it and repartitioned it
up and made another primary partition and installed Vista Ultimate on it and can
choose which one I want to run at boot. It's set so if I walk away and don't choose
it'll go ahead and boot into Vista after a bit.

I used DriveImage XML to make a complete image of both operating systems so I
can just put Vista back after I get done testing Windows 7. I've made a start on
a review mainly just to keep the information and the drive image facts so far are
saved HERE

The info on Windows 7 so far is published HERE.
It's working fine so far. Windows 7 is not even in beta yet, it's a milestone version
that Microsoft let a few people have to test. Someone copied it and gave the copy
to someone else and finally someone gave me a copy to test unofficially. It will
replace Windows Vista as the main operating system in a year or two.
Everything isn't finished yet but it's in a workable state right now and I'm using it a
little along on the side.

Good information Thump. I expect my current computer to last a coule of more years and will wait to Windows 7 is out and there has been a revision or 2.

Mainly just for me, I gathered up some information and don't want to have to do it
again. It's running great but PCPitstop gave the machine very poor marks with it.

Refurbished e-machine with XP Home $199.99
System:
AMD Sempron LE-1200, 2100 Mhz, one core
Installed Physical Memory - 1.00 GB
Total Physical memory - 895 MB
Available physical memory - 386 MB
Total virtual memory - 2.04 GB
Available virtual memory - 1.24 GB

My Windows Experience Score is: 3.0
Processor - 4.1
Memory (RAM) - 3.9
Graphics - 3.1
Gaming Graphics - 3.0
Primary Hard Disk - 5.6

Desktop:
Windows 7 and DriveImage XML Desk

Pitstop 11:

Just a test. Warning, it'd be too slow on dialup probably anyway.
I ought to throw it away and get some country music or something but I'l afraid
I'll forget how to do it and now I can look at this one.
